* It's a he, looks like mostly Aussie Shepherd with some sort of sighthound in there somewhere (his legs are longer than in a sheepdog usually)
* Given that dad and I are longterm Pratchett fans and mom's a recent convert, he is Gaspode the Wonder Dog
* There was some leftover chicken in the fridge, so he has eaten a bit
* Dad got him out from under the bench, turns out he does have a collar, with a registration number but no personal tags
* No tail wags, no licks, no barks
* Actual saddest eyes
* Flinches at sudden movements, doesn't respond to praise

So, we know legally we should call Animal Services with the number on his tags and they'll get in touch with his people. But "legally" isn't the same as "ethically." So, waiting for mom to get home, see what she has to say...
